Classic Race Services has grown to be the premier race management, race consulting and race timing service in North Georgia. We started timing races over 30 years ago when two runners local to the Athens, GA area decided to begin timing races for their local running group, The Athens Track Club, now know as Athens Road Runners.

Our Story
Classic Race Services (CRS) began in September, 1989 by Mark Morris and Will Chamberlin. Both Mark and Will were runners in the Athens, GA area and were active members of the Athens Track Club. In 1991, Mark moved to Alabama to go to helicopter school, compliments of the US Army Reserve, and then to Hinesville, GA where he works at Fort Stewart. Will became the sole owner of Classic Race Services. In 1995 Will decided to leave Reliance Electric Company after 20 years and make a go of the race business. In 2004, Carole Black started working with Will and Classic Race Services. The number of races managed by Classic Race Services grew to well over 100 in 2009. Sadly, in April, 2010, Will Chamberlin passed away following a stroke. Carole continued running the company and asked Tim Bagley, a dedicated runner, to work with Classic Race Services as the new partner. Over the next 10 years, Carole and Tim significantly increased the number of races timed and managed by Classic Race Services. In 2022, Carole assumed full ownership of Classic Race Services and has exciting plans for the continued growth of the company by providing exceptional race management and timing services.
